Westfields International Center at Dulles
Snow and Ice Removal

Updated: Wed, Febuary 8th, 2012
The WBOA is monitoring the another potential snow/ice event coming into the area this afternoon. Please be advised that the majority of the roads in Westfields are public roads maintained by VDOT. We will monitor the weather and treat as required the roads which the WBOA has responsibility. Should you need or want to contact VDOT regarding the roads please see the information below:
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is responsible for removing snow and ice from the thousands of miles of public roads (interstate, primary and secondary) in Fairfax County. Clearing is done on a priority basis, with interstates and high volume roads cleared first. Public roadways can typically be identified by a route number sign posted at street intersections. Once the most heavily traveled roads and emergency routes are adequately clear, snow crews move to less-traveled roads and subdivisions. Please contact VDOT online or at 1-800-FOR-ROAD (367-7623), TTY 711, for further information.
Thanks!

Happy Holidays!!
Westfields OK after Hurricane Irene
Westfields managed to come through the tropical storm with minor damage as a result of Hurricane Irene moving up the coast. A few trees and shrubs came down but most of the debris is from leaf and tree limbs that came down with the high winds. As a result of our prunning efforts over that last two years many of the brandford pear trees survived the heavy winds in the center islands of the boulevards. All of the storm water management ponds that the WBOA manages worked without incident and performed as designed. These ponds were checked prior and after the storm. In our survey of the park early Sunday morning, we did not see any visible building damage from the roads. Please check your properties and let the WBOA office know if there are any damanges to the common areas we need to address. |
